New Girls

The new Girls arrived today, from OrionTree. We now have a palomino Vorwerk,  and two Araucana.  

They are currently in a run and Cube, away from our existing girls.  They'll stay there for a week or so, befre we think about letting them meet the Oldies beak to beak

The existing flock were not impressed by the arrival of Outsiders, and there was a squawking match between the two groups at one point.     Hopefully that will settle down in a day or two.

One of the araucana seems a bit squawky.  I guess there has to be one, lol.

Normally we shut newbies in their coop for half an hour before letting them out.  Because these girls had been travelling,  I didn't think that was a good idea so I just popped them in their new run.

They weren't impressed by the cauliflower on offer.  But they did munch pellets.  I'd mixed in some of the ones they are used to with some growers pellets for them, to help them transition.

One of them,  investigated the Cube and laid an egg :-)  I haven't named them yet, so I only know which one by looking at this picture.

 

 The picture shows the Araucana egg on the right, next to a Leghorn white egg on the left
