Cleaning

My overnight symptoms changed.  On Saturday night I managed to sleep quite well (relatively speaking), and yesterday I woke up feeling a bit more oomphy than of late.   I decided to spend the energy doing Domestics.

I spent the whole of Sunday cleaning.    I appreciate that it's a bit of a waste,  I could have ut my limited energy into doing something a bit more enjoyable.    However,  the lack of domestic housewifery does bother me sometimes, usually when I've no energy at all to do anything about it.  So,  I decided that this time I'd spend some energy doing it.

I changed the bed linen and put some in to wash.   I lay on the floor with a Swiffer and cleaned all the fluff from under the bed and behind our bedside cabinets.  Raymondo gets most of it,  but some of it gets blown against things or begind things, in places he can't reach.   It was embarrassingly awful I know that there will be fuff back there within a day, and within a week it'll look lke it's never been done.    I will have to find a way to clear everything from under the bed,  but that's a target for anothe time.

I took everything off the cabinets and cleaned them.     I did the "ironing", and cleaned the cabinet which holds the ironing press. Finally I (Raymondo) vacc'd the floor and I washed it.

I  cleaned the bathroom,  put the bathmat in the washing machine, scrubbed the bathtub (which I had to do in stages as it was doing my back in).  Then I used the dustpan brush to get under the chest that holds the spare stuff,  and in the corners,  and  (Raymondo) vacc'd the floor and I washed it.

I did a load of handwashing (as in, the machine's "handwash" cycle).    All the airers are full again.

I cleared the landing,  and brushed out the cat beds to remove the cat hair.   (Raymondo) vacc'd the floor, in sections,  and I washed it.  The clutter that was on the landing is currently blocking the entrance to the small bedroom, I'll deal with it later.

I brushed the stair carpet, by hand, to get to the bits which get stuck under the runner.  I started at the top and I had an impressively horrific pile of stuff by the time I reached the bottom.    DH vacuumed that up when he got home, while I was doing another session on the bathtub.

I moved all the (easily moveable) furniture in the living room, and (Raymondo) vacc'd it in sections and I washed it in sections.    I cleaned some of the Utility room.     I dumped some stuff in the bin, as it's black bin week this week.

I cleaned out the chickens, and cleaned one of the cat litter trays.  I cleaned the kitchen windows.

I cleaned out Raymondo, including taking out his rollers,  circular brush and wheel, so that I could get all the hair and fluff off them. l also cleaned the rollers on the upright vacuum cleaner.

I'm writing this down and I'm not sure how it took me so long to do that.  I was at it non stop,  and Ifelt ike I was working at a reasonable pace.   Still, I didn't manage to clean everywhere.  The kitchen needs doing (but it's not too bad as I had an attempt to cea it earlier in the week), and the hall needs doing. The downstairs cloakroom needs doing.

Overnight, my symptoms changed again and I kept waking up with a terrible headache, eminating from my neck, and nausea.   This morning, the headache was unbearable - but lying in a position made the pin from my neck even worse.  I got up and resisted the temptation to take my migraine medication, and took paracetamol instead.

I feel a bit more human now, but I'm not feeling exactly full of life, lol.

I'm happy that (most of) the house is clean, and I don't regret spending the day doing it.

Back to the Future!

Great Scot!

Miss Teen and I went to see the musical version of  one of my all time favourite films, Back to the Future, yesterday.  DH was too unwell to come, so my DB came in his place

It was AMAZING!

I've been lucky to see many shows.  This is possibly my favourite ever.    Theactors had Marty's voice spot on;  Marty's dad, George McFly, was just fab.  The actor got applause after his first couple of lines because his mannerisms and voce were just so...George McFly.

The special effects with the car were out of this world.

It was just fantastic!

I'm going again.

I made something!

I made something!

I managed to make a cover for a huge cushion for a friend's 50th birthday pressie.    I bought the fabric especially, it's upholstery fabric with cocktails on.       The inner is one of several I bought last year but didn't use.

I had to overlock each piece as soon as I cut it, as it frayed immediately.  I wasn't feeling up to putting a zip in, so I did an envelope fold.  I pattern matched the overlap at the back, and I coverstitched the ends.   It looks quite good.

I wrapped it immediately, and I didn't take any pictures (rolls eyes!)

I'm happy that i've broken my duck.... but I'm not sure I'm ready to make anything else yet.
